When you show up to the fam house and they are out back with the flat grill set on top of the charcoal grill you know it’s about to be goooood!(wish I had a pic of this, darnit)
Just imagine Aisha sitting on the back patio steps, arm out reaching to flip and turn the carne asada. You can smell the bell peppers and onions as well.
We are soaking up the very last bit of summer with this meal.
I’m just going to dive into this deliciousness with you. Grilled carne asada that Ali was lathering marinade onto when I opened the sliding glass door. Grilled onion, bell pepper, and meaty zucchini skewers. If you grow zucchini you know that it has to go with every summer meal because there is just THAT much. 3 different homemade salsas were had. Shrimp ceviche, garden fresh red, and guacamole to top the fajitas. Shredded tillamook, lettuce, heirloom yellow ‘maters if you wanted more veggies. These tacos were already perfect without that sour cream(no hate). And of course corn on the cob that was so sweet I asked if this was homegrown as well(nope, good ol’ Food 4 Less).
Garden fresh fruits that were picked out before we ate.
A meal that was so grand there was no need for a dessert. That was the fruit and the corn.
A meal that reminded me that what you put it is what you get out. In anything in life.
Cheers!
