With the recent demo of our beloved Burger Fixin’s and lots of social chatter, we’d like to provide an update for those who haven’t been keeping up with the numerous threads.
We did purchase the property that Burger Fixin’s sat on but after spending quite a bit of money on plans, engineering studies, etc, we came to the conclusion that the small parcel of land couldn’t accommodate our needs. We received an offer on the land in July and made the decision to sell the land it sat on.
Given the state of the economy for the last couple of years, we can’t make the numbers work. Construction costs and interest rates are keeping us from moving forward. It’s that simple. We are small business owners in our latter years and don’t have deep pockets.
We continue to explore every opportunity but our due diligence results are the same. Money is too expensive to borrow and it’s unwise to do so at this time.
We’ve joked that since so many people want it back so badly, maybe we should do a “Go Fund Me” or take up a collection. 🤷🏼♀️🤪
All joking aside, we continue to pray about it and discuss creative ways to bring this icon back to the community. You can always message us directly with any questions or thoughts/ideas!
