Dreaming of bigger opportunities, Tou Jim Lee chose UWM for its urban location. As a marketing major, he participated in student government, study abroad and two internships. His internship at Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce led to a career. Now the director of operations and communications, Lee helps people in his community open a new business or grow an existing one. He also established the grassroots organization Our Scholarship, which has so far awarded $19,000 in private scholarships to Southeast Asian students in Wisconsin who are attending college. ❤️ Together, we raised $250 in June!

June marked the launch of a new initiative at all of our in-person events—including farmers markets, festivals, and pop-ups. 100% of all tips and donations, along with a portion of every event sale, are donated to nonprofit organizations making a difference in our communities.

In June, your support helped us raise $250, benefiting:

🐾 Ozaukee Food Alliance
🐾 Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary
🐾 Purring Hearts Kitten Rescue

This is just the beginning. Every event is another opportunity to give back, and we look forward to sharing the impact we make together throughout the year.

We’re excited to officially announce Nova Boba’s first community partnership with Purring Hearts Kitten Rescue Meliorism! 🐾🧋✨

For those who may not know, Nova Boba was named after our shelter cat, Nova — who also became our mascot and the inspiration behind our brand. From the beginning, one of our goals with Nova Boba has always been to give back to causes we truly care about, especially animal rescue and shelters.

Through this partnership, a portion of Nova Boba’s sales throughout the year will help support local rescue efforts, including Purring Hearts. This is the first partnership of many we hope to build as Nova Boba continues to grow within the community. 💜
Purring Hearts Kitten Rescue Meliorism is a Wisconsin-based 501(c)(3) foster rescue focused on caring for orphaned neonatal kittens, feral mother cats with kittens, and families in crisis needing temporary foster support.

As part of this partnership, Nova Boba will also have a donation jar at all of our in-person events. Instead of tipping us, we encourage customers to consider donating to help support the cats and kittens in Purring Hearts’ care. Every little bit helps.
We’ll also be helping share their mission and content — which means yes… more adorable kitten posts are coming.
