Dreaming of bigger opportunities, Tou Jim Lee chose UWM for its urban location. As a marketing major, he participated in student government, study abroad and two internships. His internship at Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce led to a career. Now the director of operations and communications, Lee helps people in his community open a new business or grow an existing one. He also established the grassroots organization Our Scholarship, which has so far awarded $19,000 in private scholarships to Southeast Asian students in Wisconsin who are attending college.
