Thai today!
One of the nicest moments today ❤️
We have some workers outside behind our building, and Owen asked me to go with him to see if they wanted lunch. He cooked for them and bought food for them.
As a mother, moments like this mean so much to me. It reminds me that we are teaching our children to serve others, to look for opportunities to help, and to bring happiness to people through simple acts of kindness and service.
Sometimes the biggest blessing as a parent is seeing your child develop a caring heart. ❤️
There’s a saying that food brings people together. In Thai culture, we love making lots of food and inviting friends, neighbors, family, and sometimes even the whole village to gather together.
Since moving here, our family has continued that tradition. We love inviting new friends to eat at our home, and at church, when someone is sick or has just had a baby, we bring food to them.
Serving and caring for others is part of our family culture.
This past week has been exhausting running two restaurants. This morning when I walked into the restaurant, my mind was only thinking about my to-do list and everything I needed to get done today. Since Owen had no school, I asked him to come help wash dishes.
But his act of service made me stop for a moment and remember that we should always look for opportunities to serve others and make someone else’s day a little more beautiful.
Today, I learned something from Owen about service.
