DELHICACY is a dream that my husband and I realized and lived. We cannot be more thankful, proud and humbled to have done way more than we ever dreamed of. We are especially thankful to the Iowa community for helping us realize and live this dream!
They say it takes five years for a restaurant to truly make its mark—and looking back at everything we’ve built since 2021, I can say with an incredibly full heart: We did it.
Closing this physical storefront does not negate a single thing we have accomplished. Instead, it marks the completion of a beautiful chapter. For five years, Delhicacy has been my first baby. We poured our hearts, our heritage, and our creative energy into these walls. We survived the unpredictable, connected with the most wonderful guests, and created flavors I am immensely proud of. That success is ours forever, and nothing can diminish it.
But life brings new, beautiful seasons. A year and a half ago, our world got bigger when we welcomed our baby boy. Just as Delhicacy needed all of my time five years ago, my son needs me to build our life around him now.
As a chef, my soul belongs to the creative side of food. Lately, managing the sheer scale of a large business footprint has taken me away from that joy. So, we are choosing to celebrate our achievements by stepping away on a high note.
This is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞—𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞. Delhicacy is simply looking for its next iteration: a smaller, cozier, more efficient kitchen where I can focus purely on great food. At the same time, a new Cafe concept that I’ve been quietly dreaming up since before my pregnancy is still waiting in the wings. In this beautiful, busy haziness of motherhood and entrepreneurship, I am taking the time to find perfect clarity, the right partner, and the ultimate future space for Delhicacy and my next dream - A Cafe!
Thank you for an unforgettable five years. While I am overwhelmed with emotions, I will walk out with an immense sense of pride for what we built together. The kitchen may be pausing, but the passion isn't going anywhere.
