As part of a neighbors Easter potluck, we decided to bring dessert.

A Ultra-Lemon glazed Vanilla & Blueberry Bundt cake and Red Velvet cupcakes with an obvious overdose of Easter-/Spring-colored icing.

Christmas Dinner...

This year I decided on "Canard à l'Orange" (Roasted Duck in Orange Sauce), using another one recipe from Julia Child's "The French Chef" (Season 1, Episode 13, 1963).
The sauce, made from home made duck stock, sticky and sweet with orange taste, the duck roasted perfectly.
Simply delicious.

Finished the dinner with a "Two Chocolate Mousse".

Thanksgiving Dinner te-imagined.
We decided to go a different route for Thanksgiving this year. Instead of the usual Turkey dinner, we decided on "Surf 'n Turf", Steak & lobster, with sides of oven-roasted Butternut Squash and Brussels Sprouts, as well as Cranberry
Followed by cheesecake.

Delicious.

Enjoying my first try at one of Julia Childs' recipes out of her book "Mastering the Art of French Cooking". In fact the first recipe she showed on the first ever episode of "The French Chef".

Boeuf Bourguinonne (Beef in Redwine Sauce)
The smell was already amazing, cooking for 2 1/2 hours in the oven.
Tasted even better.
