On this day, 25 years after the horrifying 9/11 attacks in 2001, we remember Mark Bingham.
He was a gay athlete onboard the United Airlines Flight 93 who helped to save hundreds of people by ensuring that the fourth plane didn’t hit its target.
Mark, along with several other passengers, retook the fourth plane from hijackers by rushing to the cockpit and overthrowing the hijackers, saving many lives in the process.
All 44 people onboard the flight lost their lives, but the group saved countless people.
We remember and honour them all.
