We did a thing!
Sometimes, we like to push the brewing envelope to see how far we can take ourselves, the equipment, b**r and experience. We rebuilt our Bounced Czech (IYKYK) Pilsner from the ground up!
In this case, we brewed a Czech or Bohemian (depending on who you ask) Pilsner. Not just any old way, but in as close a fashion as we could to a Decoction Mash! We stepped through three different temperatures during the mash, each time recirculating through as close to a boiling bath as possible.
We then took it through a 3 hour boil. Brew day was 16 total hours, for a small 2 BBL batch and was a pure labor of love.
Come and give this Czech Pils a try, and you'll be treated to a yellow gold color with a bright white head, and a subtle protein haze. floral hop aroma on the nose. The first drink is notes of bread crust and a quick spicy hit of Saaz hops. Malt and hops are well balanced, yet followed up by a crisp and clean, yet lingering finish.
Pairs perfectly some something spicy! And La Chaparrita Food Truck fits that pairing perfectly.
Come in and give this b**r a try, being a small batch, we expect it to go quickly!
