🎉 HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉

🐴🏮 Tết Nguyên Đán, commonly known as Tết or Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is the most significant, emotional, and widely celebrated festival in Vietnam, occurring between late January and mid-February (Feb 17, 2026, is the start of the Year of the Horse). It is a time for family reunions, honoring ancestors, and welcoming spring with customs like house cleaning, visiting temples, and giving lucky money (lì xì).

🌟 Key Aspects of Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tết):

🎊 Significance: It signifies a fresh start, a time to forget the troubles of the past year and hope for a better, more prosperous year ahead. It is also a time for reunion as people travel from across the country to be with their families.

🎊Key Traditions:
• House Cleaning: Homes are cleaned to remove bad luck from the previous year.

• Kitchen Gods Day (Táo Quân): On the 23rd day of the last lunar month, families hold a ceremony to send the Kitchen Gods to heaven to report on their household.

• Visiting Relatives/Friends: The first few days are spent visiting relatives and friends.

• Lucky Money (Lì xì): Adults give red envelopes with money to children and elders for good luck.

•Decorations: Homes are decorated with yellow apricot blossoms (mai) in the south or peach blossoms (đào) in the north, symbolizing spring.
Common Foods:

• Bánh Chưng/Bánh Tét: Square or cylindrical sticky rice cakes filled with mung bean and pork, wrapped in leaves.

• Mut: Candied fruits.

• Giò lụa: Pork sausage

• Cultural Beliefs: Choosing the first person to enter the home ("xông đất") is important, as it is believed they influence the family's fortune for the entire year.

Tết usually lasts for about a week, with the first three days being the most important.

🎉May 2026 be filled with new adventures and beautiful moments! CHEERS TO A NEW YEAR!🪭🏮🎊🎉
