In December of 1905 thieves waited until all of the buildings on the square had become dark. Then around 2:30am explosives ultimately allowed the thieves to gain access to the safe in the Bank of Carrollton. The bank robbers walked away with approx. $2,500. Mr Broadhurst's horse and wagon were also stolen, but later found in Farmers Branch.
