The City is celebrating its 110th birthday today after voting to incorporate as a general law city on June 14, 1913. ๐
The Historic Downtown Square was once the hub of a dusty little settlement of pioneers who came to claim their parcel of the Peters Colony land. Some of the buildings around the Downtown Square date back to the late 1800s, built of brick made in Carrollton โ an industry made possible by the arrival of the railroad. Today, three active train lines still run through Carrollton, as well as the DART Green line and, in the near future, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (Official DART page) Silver Line Regional Rail. ๐
