When talking about rum drinkers, most people immediately think of peg-leg pirates and spring-breakers. But rum is delicious and far, far more serious than people know. Well, we wholeheartedly believe the time is ripe for rum to make a comebackšŸ¹

We’ll see you at our bar next door this Sunday, September 13th. We’re welcoming Nate Windham, head bartender at Fitzgerald and Faulkner, for a fascinating class exploring the history of rum via a guided tasting. From its origins and remarkable global impact to the ways each island shaped its own unique flavor—and the rise and fall and, yes, rise of the tiki movement—Nate will lead us on an educational and sensory experience not to be missed.

Even as the label natural wine has been diluted, the practice of following natural wine principles has grown more and more important. So at Atlas on Sunday, August 30th, we’re going to dig into the world of true natural wine with Sophie Barrett.

The Atlas Natural Wine Class. We’ll get started at 5 p.m. Sophie will guide us through five landmark natural wines—from bubbly to red—to help demystify this rather murky subject. Of course, Acme will do our part and provide some delicious themed snacks.

Lucky, lucky you. All weekend (or until we run out) we’ll be serving glorious bluefin. It’ll be simple and it will be raw and it will be delicious. We’re going to follow a pretty straightforward asian approach with ginger, avocado, yuzu, and crispy rice. Because why not?

With the Acme Tomato Plate, everybody is a winner. It’s back, starting tonight. Local. field grown tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, deviled eggs, and bread & butter squash pickles. Think of it as summer’s righteous participation award; all you have to do is show up. That makes Acme sort of the Oprah of summertime. You get a tomato plate. And you get a tomato plate. Joy abounds across the land.
