Hello friends. We know it has been a while! We sure were hoping to be able to give you a more “concrete” update by now, or even better, that shovels in the ground could have told their own story. But unfortunately, that is not the case. We assure you we’ve been working nonstop since the fire to begin the rebuild of our beloved pub. But the reality is the price of rebuilding (materials, code upgrades, equipment and labor) is very expensive and significantly higher than our insurance settlement, especially after repayment of our mortgage, taxes and other expenses. Furthermore, lenders are tightening standards for the food-service sector. That combination has prevented us from moving as quickly as we all had wanted. But we have not given up. And we feel we are close on all fronts: finalizing insurance, redrawing plans and securing financing.

We want to thank you all for your continued patience and support. The Raise a Glass to Rebuild Riley’s Pour House event raised an amazing $75,000! After costs we have a little more than $55,000 which is held by the Friends of Riley’s Pour House. You can visit their website to see how and when those funds would be released for the rebuild. We additionally received $7,000 for the rebuild efforts from the Washington Wild Things event, and a few smaller donations all which is also held in a separate account only to be used for rebuilding.

So, rest assured, we are coming back to 215 E. Main Street, Carnegie! In the meantime, please continue to support your local small businesses, restaurants and musicians. It’stough out there! And, as always……

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields. May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
