This is what French cooking looks like before it reaches your table.

Chef Kerry Loutas has been doing this since before it was a trend, sourcing from local farmers, cooking from classic French technique, and plating with the kind of care that only comes from decades of devotion🇫🇷

There are places that hold time differently.

1958, where a family, a courtyard in Carmel, a kitchen that smelled like garlic butter and something slow and beautiful cooking in wine🍷.

Yvan Nopert and his family walked into a small café in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea and turned it into something this town had never seen ~ a Country French cuisine, intimate, seasonal, rooted in the land and the sea, no grand entrance, just a table that was always worth finding.

Decades passed, carmel changed around it, yet the restaurant did not.

Chef Kerry Loutas took over the kitchen and carried it forward ~ carefully and proudly. He goes to the farmers market weekly because he can feel the difference in what he picks up.

Generations of families have sat at these tables; they came as children, and now they bring their own.

And a dessert menu to come back to🍨.

Playful, decadent, a little theatrical. Exactly right.

Sixty-eight years of this, and the same devotion.
