A proud woman came in tonight for a quick drink on the way home from work while video chatting her kids in Colorado after finding out they’re having a baby girl — their first baby.

She asked me to make her a pink drink while she celebrated from what probably felt like a million miles away, and the joy on her face is something I’ll never forget. She was absolutely glowing at the news.

People joke that bartenders double as therapists, friends, and sometimes a shoulder to lean on… but moments like this prove how true that really is.

We get to witness pieces of people’s lives — the celebrations, the heartbreaks, the laughter, the healing, the milestones they’ll remember forever.

Life can be heavy sometimes, and whether someone walks through the door to celebrate, to escape for a little while, or simply to not feel alone, we just do our best to make life a little softer, a little sweeter, or a little easier to carry.

There will always be room here for a celebration when life is good, a conversation when life feels hard, and a smile on the days someone needs it most. ❤️
