On July 31, 2025, what began as an ordinary summer day for Hunter — a Southeast Polk student from Pleasant Hill — became the day that changed everything.
In a single, devastating moment, he was struck by a distracted driver, suffering severe brain injuries and significant physical trauma. The vibrant, active young man who had been stepping into his future was suddenly fighting for his life.
Today, Hunter’s days look very different — but his determination remains the same. He is relearning the most basic parts of daily life, relying on a feeding tube for nourishment, a tracheostomy to breathe, and around-the-clock nursing care. Every small step forward is hard-earned, and every milestone is a victory.
Right now, one critical need stands in the way of that continued progress: safe, reliable transportation. Hunter urgently needs a wheelchair-accessible van so he can attend therapies, travel to medical appointments, and slowly begin reconnecting with his community. This van is not just a vehicle — it is access to healing. It is opportunity. It is forward motion.
Hunter has already shown great progress, but the journey ahead is still long. With your support, we can help lift some of the burden his family carries and give Hunter the ability to keep moving toward recovery.
Thank you for standing with Hunter. Every prayer, every act of generosity, and every share of his story helps carry him one step closer to healing — and one mile closer to hope.
