I think I accidentally deleted my first posting of this…. 😬 Take 2 🤦♀️
A personal update 🩵
As many of you may know, I’ve recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer, and I’m preparing for a big surgery and recovery in the coming weeks. (Surgery is scheduled for November 4th and will take me out of the kitchen about 4-6 weeks)
November is normally the busiest month of the year for me, and having to step away from baking during that time will mean a significant loss of income for my family (in addition to the loss we’ve already had to experience by not taking custom orders/cake orders). With everything going on, it’s been a lot to navigate both emotionally and financially. I have always loved being a part of your holiday celebrations.
My husband has started a GoFundMe to help our family get through this difficult season while I focus on treatment, surgery, and recovery. Sharing this isn’t easy for me, but I’ve realized it’s okay to accept help when life gets hard. ❤️
The good news is that Buttercup Bakery isn’t done just yet! 🧁 I am planning on three more pop-ups, one for each remaining weekend this month, before my surgery. Spooky themed, of course! 👻
Every stop by the shed, share, kind word, and bit of support means so much to me and my family right now. If you’d like to help us through this time, I’ll include our GoFundMe link below. Donations and shares are both incredibly appreciated, but please know there’s absolutely no pressure.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Buttercup Bakery, whether you’ve ordered a custom cake, stopped by the shed for cookies, shared a post, or simply cheered me on. You’ve helped me build something I truly love in the past 5 years, and I’m so grateful for this community.
With love and gratitude,
Katie @ Buttercup Bakery 🧁
