“For extreme diseases, extreme methods of cure, as to restriction, are most suitable”, attributed to Hippocrates (Hippocratic oath: “Do no harm”) and likely the origination of “In drastic times, drastic measures”.

It is with an over abundance of caution, we have decided to temporarily close The Plate.

We truly hope that we are over-reacting, but we think, at this time of uncertainty, it is best for the safety of our customers and staff to immediately halt our operations. None of the staff and we know of no customers who have exhibited any symptoms of the coronavirus (COVID-19) but we think that promoting social distancing by closing our small establishment is the responsible measure. We plan to re-evaluate the situation in two weeks and will make decisions at that point regarding the date for re-opening. We will post our plans at that point.

We want to thank our loyal customers for your patronage. In the meantime, be well and we look forward to seeing you soon.
