Thanksgiving Advice to all husbands .....(especially those who are experiencing their FIRST Thanksgiving as a married man)... Please be considerate of the other husbands and Veterans of past Thanksgiving forays as you venture into the afore unknown "valley of the shadow..." known as the last minute grocery store run.... Best advise: ask for directions from a clerk or a Vet; do NOT look for cranberry sauce in the fresh fruit section; (canned sauce is just as good and less stressful) Smile like you really DO know what you are doing, and be sure to thank the cashiers who have given up their holiday to be there for all of you! You remain in my thoughts as I stay home today (because it is my Father-in-law who will be there with you :)P and not I)

.....Remember back when I said living in Calif. wasn't for wimps, .....and that we had to be prepared for anything at anytime? Well looks like another exciting week..... was 80 on Wednesday.......75 Thursday ....pouring rain and a high of 52 on Friday..... in the 30s last night and a balmy 65 today............there isn't anything quite like having all 4 seasons in as many days!

Ya know........if it wasn't for the traffic, smog,& heat in August.........one could almost think we live in Hawaii we seem to be having their weather ....a lil rain between 7am and 7:30 - over cast then warming up to a balmy 60-70 degrees.....(but i miss the waves and the plants)

The first day of spring looks a LOT like the first day of winter here ..........rain, hail, and in our local mountains 31" - 52" of fresh snow! (Beginning to think I should have taken up skiing - lol I can see the headlines now.....abdominal snowman found frozen it treetops after attempting a turn but instead caught air for several hundred feet ...)

Let me preface this by apologizing for the comments on our wonderful weather when those of you in the mid-west were freezing -CA experienced all 4 seasons this past weekend (while cooking outside - 3 days) we had pouring rain - high winds and 33 degrees, followed by more winds no rain and 25 degrees, followed by 60 degrees and bright sun shine! you can't be a wimp and live in CA - gotta be prepared for everything!

this is a shout out to (all the unsung heroes) everyone who washes dishes day-in and day-out in every restaurant....I did it yesterday for more than 10 hours straight and let me tell you it is NOT something I totally want to do every day...so THANK you ALL!
