For all those who were waiting, soup weather has officially arrived! Our October specials include Oktoberfest stew featuring Hamburg Brewing Co.’s Oktoberfest l***r, which was also have on draft in the tasting room as well as Duma Meats Farm Market smoked Hungarian sausage, potatoes, cabbage and onions. It’s got a great depth of flavor and will take the chill off any cool day.

For dessert we have homemade pumpkin cake bars lightly frosted with a cream cheese frosting and decorated with a candy corn pumpkin.

They are both seasonal and delicious, so be sure to stop in and try them on your next visit.

Last but certainly not least of our highlighted fall menu items is the False Summit Flatbread. It is topped with a tomato basil sauce, blistered tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil, and a balsamic glaze. It’s light and crunchy and honestly, it pairs well with white and red wines as well as a b**r or hard c***r.

Bacon lovers unite for our updated, fall version of Basin’s Bruschetta. This simple yet yummy combo of flavors features crispy crostini topped with goat cheese, homemade candied bacon and is drizzled with hot honey.

We are featuring a very special family tradition in September straight from Liverpool, NY - Hoffman’s snappy grippers. Now what the heck is a snappy griller? Good question. Also referred to as a ‘white hot’ by upstate New Yorkers, it is a German white sausage introduced in 1934 that features a combination of veal, beef, pork, egg whites and spices. It is special to our family because Heid’s of Liverpool in Syracuse, where snappies are sold, is where owner Kim’s grandparents met for their first and many subsequent dates. It is also a ‘required’ stop on any trip to the Adirondacks.

We have a limited supply this month, so when they are gone, they are gone. We are serving it on a split top bun with brown mustard and a side of fries. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do!

In addition to our monthly specials (which will be posted Wednesday), we are launching our fall menu, which runs September through November. We’ve got a few new items we will highlight over the next week or so, as well as updates to existing menu items.

Today we are introducing you to one of our personal favorites - Blake’s Brussels. These are deep fried Brussels sprouts topped with homemade candied bacon and drizzled with balsamic glaze.

If you asked us as kids if we would like Brussels sprouts, we would have laughed, but now, we can’t get enough of them! We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

We'd like you to say hello to Tiffany, our new kitchen manager for The Hungry Hiker. In this role, she is responsible for leading the food truck staff, as well as ordering, scheduling and overseeing all aspects of the truck.

Tiffany has served in various retail and food service roles throughout her entire working career. She's extra proud of her random 80s/90s/2000s pop culture knowledge, so be sure to challenge her with some questions and test her skills when you see her.

Our August food specials are sure to cool you down on a hot day. Inspired by one of our favorite grabs from a local store, we have a personal cold veggie pizza with with a homemade herbed cream cheese topped with shredded cheddar, shredded carrots, bell peppers, black olives and broccoli florets. And for dessert, there's an old family favorite - frozen strawberry margarita pie, with bright citrus notes of oranges and limes with fresh strawberries. No tequila was added so it can be enjoyed by everyone.

We are open and serving Wednesday through Friday from 4-8 pm and Saturday from 1-8 pm.
