STARK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO CONDUCT SOBRIETY CHECKPOINTS

CANTON, Ohio, July 25, 2026 – Stark County Sheriff Eric Weisburn today announced that the Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with other members of the Stark County OVI Task Force, will conduct sobriety checkpoints on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the village of Brewster.

The first checkpoint will be held from 6 – 8:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Wabash Avenue South in the village of Brewster. The second checkpoint will be held from 8:30 – 11 p.m. near the intersection of Wabash Avenue North and Glick Street NW in the village of Brewster.

Officers will conduct roadside checks of drivers for alcohol and drug impairment and will be vigilant in detecting and apprehending impaired drivers.

Remember: Impaired driving is never acceptable. Always make the responsible choice to plan ahead for a safe, sober ride home.
