Unfortunately this has been my experience in every disaster I've been a part of relief for. Our people have been turned away, harassed and threatened while trying to respond to genuine needs. We will keep doing what we can do to get food to the people who need it as we deal with these issues of obstructed bureaucracy. Anyone who evacuated or volunteers can come directly to the restaurant and we will get you as many meals as needed. We are also using the banquet room for staging any non perishable goods to go to the people in need of them. If you are trying or wanting to help please give locally. FInd a family displaced. Find a group of campers and drop off food to them directly. Treat your neighbors as you would your own family. But do not give one dime to the Red Cross. They are ran as a corporation with a CEO making 1.3 million a year in pay. I always try to stay above this nonsense, especially in business, but this has to stop. Kelli here. We are nervously watching the fire updates. Chef Marcus barely got any sleep last night. Our hearts go out to anyone in the evacuation area. Unfortunately we have to cancel the BBQ party. As we are all aware there is a level 2 fire ban, which means no cooking with fire. After talking with the fire department we are all in agreement that it is not a good idea to move forward with a smoker. We will be open tomorrow with our regular menu and everyone is still welcome to come celebrate America’s 250 year anniversary with us. We are really really sorry. No one wanted to have this party more than we did. In this situation we feel like the most important thing is to be good neighbors. We will be working on some sort of a benefit for the communities impacted. We will still have a good time here at the restaurant for the 4th. Sorry no fires.

Hello all you beautiful people. Big announcement here. We will be closing for the month of June.
I know a whole month.
As a very small mom and pop restaurant we have been neglecting considerable things in our work and personal lives. As we age with those around us time is the one thing you can never get back. (If you do know of a time machine please invest in Amazon, Google and Starbucks for me).
Do not fear. We might be adding BBQ to the menu as Chef Marcus was a pit master for many years and it's one of his food passions.
With that said. Keep an eye out here. We very likely will open for a day to test out the BBQ with y'all.
This next week is the last week to get your Gumbo Pot fix until July. Please call in our message us here if you would like to stock up on anything in bulk. We may be sold out by Sunday.

Here are the Happenings this week.
Chef Marcus is better.
Dessert is the Carrot Cake topped with cheese cake pudding and caramel drizzle .
We are open for Mother's day. I will have a rose for the mom's just like last year and my kiddos helping out.
Congratulations to our oldest son Killian (yes the sandwich is named after him, there is a whole story. If you know it drop it in the comments).
We will be closing at 3pm. Next Wednesday the 13th to get him and us to the graduation at CCHS. My beautiful mother will be in town a few days next week and might be around the restaurant if you want to ask her embarrassing facts about me.
Here is a photo of Killian's first day of school when Marcus could still hold him up on one arm. Killian is now going into computers however he can make an excellent lasagna.
