☕ Legacy Tuesdays - A Legacy of Innovation

This week, we’re looking back at one of La Marzocco’s most iconic early machines—the Rondine, introduced in 1953.

Its striking design is a reminder that espresso machines have long been more than equipment. They’re a blend of engineering, craftsmanship, and Italian design.

☕ Coffee Fact: The Rondine was part of the transition into the modern espresso era, when lever machines allowed baristas to brew using higher pressure, helping create the rich crema we now associate with a great shot of espresso.

From Florence to Camino, nearly a century of innovation continues with every shot we pull. 🇮🇹☕

🪵 Throwback Thursday

It’s that time of the week again! Step inside the Michigan-California Lumber Company mill.

This historic photo captures where raw timber was transformed into finished lumber. At its peak, the company employed hundreds of workers and produced millions of board feet of lumber each year, making Camino one of the Sierra’s leading lumber communities.

Every board that left this mill represents the hard work and dedication that helped build both California and the town of Camino.

At Camino Coffee Mill, we’re proud to honor that legacy and preserve the stories that shaped our community.

☕ Honoring the past. Brewing the future.

Did someone in your family work at the mill? We’d love to hear their story!

The Beginning of Espresso ✨

The journey of espresso started long before the modern café.

This early espresso machine represents the innovation that laid the foundation for the coffee we enjoy today. While espresso has evolved over the past century, its purpose has remained the same: bringing people together over a perfectly crafted cup.

☕ Coffee Fact: The earliest espresso machines used steam pressure to brew coffee. Modern machines use pumps to create approximately 9 bars of pressure, producing the rich, balanced espresso we know today.

Every great tradition has a beginning—and this is where one of coffee’s greatest stories began.

🇮🇹 From history to your cup.

🚂 Throwback Thursday

This photograph features a Michigan-California Lumber Company steam locomotive, one of the engines used to transport logs and lumber through the Sierra forests during Camino’s logging era.

For decades, the Michigan-California Lumber Company was the backbone of the local economy, employing hundreds of workers and producing millions of board feet of lumber each year. The railroad connected remote logging camps with the mills in Camino, helping establish the town as one of California’s leading lumber communities.

Today, Camino Coffee Mill proudly honors that history through its name and the hardworking men and women who helped build this community.

☕ Honoring the past. Brewing the future.

“It’s more than espresso. It’s a way of life.”

Coffee is more than just a morning routine. Around the world, it’s a tradition, a craft, and a reason to slow down and connect with others.

At Camino Coffee Mill, we believe every great cup has a story.

☕ Did you know the word “espresso” comes from the Italian word meaning “pressed out” or “expressed”? It’s named for the process of forcing hot water through finely ground coffee under pressure to create a rich, concentrated shot topped with a layer of crema.

Because understanding where coffee comes from makes every sip a little more meaningful.

🇮🇹 From tradition to your cup.

🚂 Throwback Thursday!

Long before Camino became known for Apple Hill, it was known for something else…

“Home of Camino Quality Lumber.”

This historic sign proudly welcomed visitors to Camino during the Michigan-California Lumber Company era. At the time, the mill employed 450 people and produced an incredible 30 million board feet of lumber each year, making Camino one of Northern California’s most important lumber communities.

The map on the sign traces the journey from the logging camps high in the Sierra, through Pino Grande, across the famous cable crossing over the South Fork of the American River, and into the Camino mill.

At Camino Coffee Mill, our name is a tribute to this incredible history and to the generations of hardworking families who helped build this town—including members of our own family.

Do you remember seeing this sign? Or did someone in your family work at the mill? We’d love to hear your stories below. ❤️

Introducing the La Marzocco Legacy ☕️🇮🇹

Ever wonder what powers your morning latte? We’ll take you behind one of the world’s most iconic espresso machine makers and share the craftsmanship, history, and innovation that goes into every shot we pull.

First up: 🇮🇹 La Marzocco’s are handcrafted in Florence

Founded in the 1920s in Florence, Italy, La Marzocco has spent nearly a century perfecting the art of espresso. Each machine is still handcrafted by skilled artisans, blending Italian tradition with modern precision.

The same dedication that goes into building these machines is the same care we put into every drink we serve.

Because great coffee starts long before the beans ever reach your cup. ☕️
