After a lot of thought and many prayers
Elvis has left the building.
Jeremy Phifer and I have decided to close the Grainery Restaurant. We want to thank everyone of our customers for your support. A huge thank you to our employees, we love each and everyone of you with all our hearts.
Several things have factored into this decision
1. Food cost is at an all time high and it doesn’t appear to have an end in sight on rising cost
2. I ( Amanda Phifer) have a hip and leg injury that is not getting any better. The Dr has advised us that I need to do something that doesn’t require me on my feet 15 hours a day.
3. My parents health is declining. My dad has to have open heart surgery in the morning. Therefore I need to be available to be with them more in their elderly years.
4. We just feel this is what is best for our family. The restaurant business requires all of your time. If the doors are open you must be there. The Grainery was our life, we missed vacations, birthday parties etc because we were at the restaurant. In the last year jeremy has lost a grandmother and his dad all while having cancer. All thanks goes to God above Jeremy is healthy and cancer free today. But with that being said we know how short life is and how quick things can change. We feel it is time we take a step back and spend some time with the parents we have left and our kids and grandkids.
Please know this decision was not made lightly nor was it easy. But life is like a book. And it’s time to close this chapter and move on to the next. We will truly miss all of you.
With love and prayers
Jeremy and Amanda Phifer
