Our Autumn Sofra Lover’s Share Box is officially up and running! Running through Nov. 16, each week’s box includes a generous meal for four (or two meals for two), plus snacks and dessert. We’ll alternate vegetarian boxes every other week and feature a mix of Sofra favorites alongside seasonal dishes created exclusively for the box by Chef Sarah.

Choose from a variety of subscription options, then pick up Siena Farms in Sudbury, Sofra Cambridge, or Sofra Allston, or have it delivered for an additional $10/week.

Inspired by the season’s vegetables, local grains, and the flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean, this demonstration class on September 17th explores a collection of our favorite savory doughs. Maura will demonstrate a flaky rye buttermilk pie dough filled with roasted delicata squash, tahini, and pumpkin seeds; Armenian matnakash topped with za’atar and transformed into shakshuka buns; halloumi and olive focaccia; and our beloved spinach pide with golden raisins and feta.

Honey 🍯 may be one of the most fascinating foods on the planet—far more nuanced than sweetness alone. In this demonstration-style class on September 24th, we’ll explore honey’s diversity through a guided tasting with honey expert Nikki of portoula | Greek Honey & Gifts who imports pine and tree honeys from her home region near Kalamata, Greece. Chef Ana will demonstrate black-eyed pea ezme with honey lemon vinaigrette, roasted carrots with pine honey, brown butter and sage, and chicken cutlets with tomato sesame jam and Executive Pastry Chef Nik will make his show-stopping honey custard dessert.

Which apple is your favorite? Join Chef Ana for a tasting of four of our favorites as we compare their flavors, textures, and best uses in the kitchen. This demo-style class will feature Baked Apples with Chorizo, Almonds and Rosemary, Lamb & Pistachio Kebabs with Apple Ezme, and Turnip Latkes with Apple Amba. Pastry Chef de Cuisine Marie Bonin will also show us her apple hand pie with salty caramel.

While Durum is the Turkish word for “wrap,” in preparation, there is less wrapping involved and more careful folding. At Sofra, our Red Lentil Durum is like our version of a veggie burger. A red lentil patty with tomato, brown butter, lettuce and hot peppers, it’s all folded up in a warm flatbread.
