Meet Jorge Monzon Jr., the proud Guatemalan owner of Estela’s Produce!

Estela’s Produce has served our community since 2009, when Jorge Monzon Sr. began building the family business. In 2020, Jorge Jr. proudly took over, continuing the legacy his father created and honoring his memory through the business they both loved.

Jorge Jr. has brought his own kindness, humor, and welcoming personality to the store. He truly loves his community and the people he has met through his business. Outside of the store, he loves traveling, and if you get him talking about cars, you’ll quickly discover that he is a true car fanatic! 🚘

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we are proud to recognize Jorge Jr. and celebrate his hard work, Guatemalan heritage, and dedication to our local community. Thank you for continuing such a meaningful family legacy and helping make Calhoun a special place to live, shop, and support local! 🇬🇹

Meet Raquel, owner of Connectada and the first local Hispanic business owner featured in our Hispanic Heritage Month series!

Raquel is a proud Mexican 🇲🇽 who spent most of her life in Texas before moving to Georgia, and we are proud to call her one of our own here in Calhoun!

With an extensive background in insurance, Raquel first put her marketing skills to work while helping launch and grow her family’s insurance agency. She later turned those skills into a business of her own, helping other local businesses strengthen their online presence, share their stories, and get seen by their communities.

As Connectada approaches its third anniversary, we are especially proud to celebrate Raquel because she is also the person behind Estela’s social media! We know firsthand how much care and dedication she pours into the businesses she serves, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she does for us and other businesses throughout our community.

Raquel, thank you for using your gifts to help local businesses grow. We are proud to honor you as part of Calhoun’s Hispanic business community!
