A friendly but heartfelt request: Please do not dump your personal trash, construction trash, party trash… ANY trash in the downtown dumpsters. They are for downtown businesses only. - which everyone knows it is illegal to dump their trash in business dumpsters.
I typically wouldn’t come on here to say anything because we do our best to try and help anywhere and everywhere needed, but this has been an ongoing issue week after week for the past year. Every time, my employees and I are left cleaning up the mess. And when I say mess I mean household trash like NASTY dirty diapers, old household food, used feminine products, construction nails and screws that get in our tires.. you name it.
The dumpsters are right outside our kitchen door, so the trash and food scattered around the back entrance affect our business directly—and attract bugs and rodents. We are paying to have our shop sprayed three times a month, inside and out, as a preventative measure.
When the dumpsters are full, please don’t stack trash on top or leave it beside them. The trash company will not come back to pick up items that fall or get knocked over, and we completely understand that.
And yes, we have addressed this with the city and have been working with the them on this for a year. They’re trying to arrange gates with keyed access, but we don’t know when that will happen.
In the meantime, we’re pleading with our locals: please stop dumping trash in these dumpsters. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep the area clean.
We also understand times are VERY hard for a lot of people who may not be able to spend the extra money on taking your things to the landfill, if this is the case, PLEASE come inside and ask for the owner and I will personally make sure you have money to get your household trash to the dump!
Below are only a SMALL glimpse of what we deal with on an every other week basis.
And YES, we have security cameras, and several videos of people dumping. Including a gentleman last night dumping a truck bed full of stuff. But we’re not posting the videos -this is just a heads up that going forward, we will be posting videos of people dumping 😫
