Eggs won’t be at the stand the remainder of this week. It’s far too hot for even our several ice packs to keep up with. Let me know if you’d like any eggs. We have one dozen duck, one dozen guinea and 6 dozen chicken available

This morning I was sorting through my eggs to go out to the Farm Stand and I was a little taken back by some still being in there from 8/7. So, I did some research. While in my eyes those seem old since we collect daily and get around 2 dozen, in fact they aren’t even close to store bought egg timelines

* Commercial eggs are typically collected and processed within about 24 hours of being laid at large facilities.
* Under USDA grading rules, eggs can be up to 30 days old when they are packed as USDA Grade A/AA.
* After packing, they may spend additional time in storage, transportation, and the store. USDA recommends refrigerated eggs be used within 3–5 weeks after being placed in the refrigerator.

The weather is finally starting to cool off here in East Tennessee, and the rain feels like a comfort I forget I need until the heat has lingered for too long. It’s funny how the things I once took for granted—or never truly appreciated before living here—have become some of life’s greatest blessings. These days, I’m thankful for every cool breeze, every drop of rain, and every reminder that the seasons always change.
