I finally tried coffee from the roaster I found that I loved, and it's soo good!!! Can't wait for you all to try it! 😍 ... in a few months. Still waiting on permitting 😭

In the meantime imma be playing with ice cream flavors. I've been experimenting with ice cream recipes and I have a good ice cream base. What kinda flavors would you like to see available?! Share your favs! I'm thinking peanut butter cup with pb and hot fudge swirls, rocky road, strawberry, chocolate, Oreo, good ol vanilla, .....?

Looks like we'll be opening Spring 2026 at the earliest. County got back to me today and we have yet more revisions 😭 Nothing major, they just need extra info and some documents. This is my first permitting experience of any kind and I'm learning so much! 10/10 do not recommend lol

Update 12/12: county emailed me today! They hated the titles of my documents (they're titled exactly what they are), so I have to rename all my documents to how they want them and resubmit 🤞

Update 2/23/26: after calling and leaving voice-mails cuz I haven't heard anything, I finally was able to talk to someone that helped! I was supposed to upload 3 or 4 documents together, and 2 other documents separately; not all 5 separately *breathe in.. breathe out*

Can't wait to open and have Gilmore Girls on in the background all morning and switch to Seinfeld in the afternoon/evening ✨️ I think we're currently looking at a 2026 opening :/

Hey everyone :) Just wanna drop a little update, not much new lol. We are almost done with the permitting process and will be able to start working on the inside soon! In the meantime I think I found our coffee roaster! They're fun, I love their mission, they're affordable, so kind, and I just have to pick what blends we'll have in store :) To start, we'll offer hot drip coffee and iced cold brew. As business picks up, I'll wanna pimp out our coffee menu but to start it'll be hot or iced. No espresso type drinks yet. The goal is to be open by Christmas 🎄🤞That's all for now. Creams update: We are still waiting on the county to approve our building permit so we can extend plumbing to add a 3 compartment sink, handwash sink and mop sink. We need an approval from both, the building dept AND health department before we can begin the plumbing. We are very close to getting the permits approved to start the work! I heard back from the health dept and need to submit 1 thing, and I should hear back from the building dept by tomorrow. In the meantime we are trying to clean up the yard and prep the inside of the shop so as soon as we get the green light we can start working on the plumbing right away. I have lots of great ideas to get the community together once we open :) Can't wait to see you all in the near future! ✌️🩷🍨☕️

Edit: Got the green light from the health dept just now! 🥳

The building dept also just got back to me and I need a few revisions but don't think it's anything major so hopefully we can get those revised quickly and resend the plans and get them approved!

Well this is cute. My sister was looking through an old folder at my parents house to find some of my brother's old art and she came across this drawing I made back in high school? Maybe college? How did I know I wanted to open a shop just didn't know what?! On the back side there were 3 things I wanted to sell: fresh baked, tea, and high tea (back then I was convinced I was gonna infuse ma*****na in tea and baked goods cuz it just started becoming legal in colorado and decriminalized in mass lol). I'm happy to say I'll be selling "fresh baked" and tea but no thc involved lol. We're family friendly here!

I completely forgot I did that. Like why did my young self draw that? And how did it come to fruition? Was it in my cards? And did my subconscious see it before I knew it would happen? To me its a sign it was meant to be and I'm on my way ✨️

Lil update: The top half of the wall is white, will add muted red stripes later cuz we'll have to cut into the walls. Look at difference! Here's a snap of "during". The top half of the wall is repainted up to a little past the ladder so you can see a good before and after.. so satisfying to see the difference :) Anyway, that's not a big deal just cosmetic stuff.

As for the rest of the shop..

The engineers I hired already have the plans done and I sent them to the building dept for approval 🤞In Arapahoe county, you need colorado certified engineered plans approved by the building dept AND health dept before any work begins. I still need to work on the health dept application this weekend and send it in on Monday. Once the plans get approved by both departments, we can begin the work. We'll have to completely redo the electrical (the electrical was good but we need a bigger service to accommodate all the extra appliances. Good thing Ben's licensed but it'll still be a pain in the butt) and add plumbing, drains and vents. We're already at what we budgeted for opening the ice cream shop so it'll be fun figuring out where to come up with extra funds to finish 🧐. It will happen one way or another tho!
