Do you know how owns the new McAlister’s? No. But, I bet you know the chef owners of The Kentucky Millstone! We went to high school together here in Pendleton County. We’re about as local as you can get…

As a chef, I’m often asked what my favorite restaurant is… sometimes you just need someone else to nourish your soul.

Fillo is the place. I’ve been here three times in the last couple of months, tried almost everything on the menu and I’m in love. Remember that lovely Octopus Paella? The chef at Fillo inspired me to try it out. Want to try something delicious and different- give Fillo a try.

When you buy a loaf of bread at the farmers market, you are not just buying bread- you are paying the farmer that grew the wheat, the miller that milled the wheat, the baker that made the bread, the Tom that baked the bread, the young girls we are sending off to college who packaged the bread, the driver that takes the bread to market and the Baker who shows up to sell you that bread…! One loaf of local bread supports a huge local economy!
