After much thought, my dad and I have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease. We don’t have a final day solidified yet, but it will be by the end of this year, and I’ll keep you all updated.

While there are many reasons behind this decision, today isn’t about those reasons. Today is about gratitude.

When we opened our doors, we hoped to create more than a coffee shop. We hoped to create a place where people could gather, connect, and support one another. Over the past ten years, our community has exceeded every expectation we could have imagined.

Together, we raised nearly $10,000 to support our neighbors affected by the food desert created in the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder.

Together, we donated more than $10,000 to local schools, nonprofits, and charitable organizations.

Together, we started a pay-it-forward chain that lasted more than two weeks.

Together, during COVID, we packed and mailed essential goods all over the United States to people who couldn’t leave their homes and couldn’t find the supplies they needed.

Together, we hosted a community chili night that fed more than 100 families.

Together, we maintained a community food shelf that helped many hundreds of individuals facing difficult times.

Together, we supported dozens of families with food, essentials, and assistance during Operation Metro Surge.

And together, from March 16, 2016, through our final day, we spent more than 3,800 days serving great coffee, great conversation, and building a community we will never forget.

The Buzz has never been just ours. It belongs to every customer who stopped in before work, every student who studied at our tables, every family who gathered here, every friend who shared a conversation over coffee, every neighbor who chose to support local, and every person who chose to work for my dad and I.

As we enter our final months, we hope you’ll stop by, share a memory, enjoy a cup of coffee, and help us celebrate everything we’ve built together.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives. Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of ours.

Through your donations we have helped an estimated 115 families! 🤍🙏🏻

Some things that go quick are:
* items that don’t need a can opener

* canned chicken
* oils (veg,olive, coconut)
* vinegars (white, apple c***r, and rice)
* pancake mix
* tortillas
* cookie mixes (we are hearing that it’s nice to have fun items like cookie and cake mixes to make kids feel “normal”)
* toilet paper
* deodorant
* tooth brushes
* tooth paste
* deodorant
* shampoo & conditioner
* body wash
* Clorox wipes
* size 4, 5, 6 diapers
