💚 In celebration of our 10th Annual Cancer Awareness Event, themed “Some Are Gone, But None Are Forgotten,” we honor three individuals who left a lasting legacy not only on his family but also in Burbank and the surrounding communities. Today, we share a tribute to Nat Rubinfeld, written by his loving son, Paul Rubinfeld.
Nathan William Rubinfeld, known to loved ones as Nat, passed away at 78. A lifelong Californian, he made his home in Burbank and Temecula, communities he cherished.
Born June 15, 1947, in Los Angeles to Harry and Frances Rubinfeld, Nat grew up in the Fairfax District and graduated from Fairfax High School. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Law from California State University, Los Angeles.
Drafted into the U.S. Air Force in 1967, Nat served honorably for three years as an aircraft mechanic, including tours in Vietnam and the Philippines. After returning home, he acquired and grew Union Adjustment Company, leading the Burbank business for four decades with fairness and dedication.
In 1978, Nat met Alma Hernandez, the love of his life. Together they built a blended family of four children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Nat was deeply committed to public service. He served on several Burbank civic boards, was an active Rotarian, and joined the Los Angeles Police Department Reserve, serving for more than 25 years.
After retiring, Nat divided his time between Burbank and Temecula, where he enjoyed his property, local w**eries, friends, and sharing Temecula-grown w**e and avocados.
He will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, generosity, wit, integrity, and devotion to family and community.
As Nat always said, “No Bacon and No Blue Cheese. With a Whole Lot of Love”.
