Sato Ramen evolved from a Japanese family tradition of ramen restaurants that began in Fukui (just north of Kyoto) and expanded to Tokyo. Executive Chef Satomi Sakai Smith grew up in a restaurant family that became famous for creating a Fukui-style ramen, which consists of a pork tonkotsu and chicken blend that adheres to a quality balanced broth of both hardiness and smoothness. Following the suc

cess of SATO in the Elmwood Village, her modern Japanese restaurant with a variety of original modern and traditional Japanese dishes, her uptempo and Japanese soulfood ramen bar Sato Ramen opened in the University Heights. Sato Ramen is a place where you can both get an authentic Japanese ramen bar experience and feel the Buffalo community and see why we are called the "City of Good Neighbors." Most of the seating is counter-style, with two community tables as well.
