🚨Updates on Matinee’s great flood of 2026 😂 🚨
first, I just wanna say thank you for the overflowing love and support from all. this is a very difficult time for our business. A water pipe on the second floor above us overflowed into the ceiling of Matinee sometime between Saturday and Sunday. The leak was found Sunday night. So possibly 12 to 24 hours of water pouring in from the ceiling & then settling. We had our insurance agent check out the place yesterday. If all goes well, we will be getting money to buy all the broken equipment. Our Ice Machine broke our refrigerator and freezer broke. Our ovens for pizzas broke. multiple issues still being found as water is still drying. Waiting on the Insurance of the building we are in to figure out structure damage. Once that is taken care of, we can redo the floors, the bathrooms and the kitchen & re-open.
For the people asking how you can help out, We are going to need quotes from reliable contractors, electricians, painters etc.. so please tag anyone you know that would fall under that category.
We also had some suggestions on selling beers to-go. Our coolers are full and ready for people to drink. So in this process, I will be figuring out our online sales system (haven’t had to do this since Covid 🤦♂️) if you want to support, we would greatly appreciate it. Details on that SOON.
Again, The overwhelming anxiety we have from all of this has been EXTREMELY stressful. The kind words and out pouring of love from everybody has really helped Kevin and myself keep it together. Seriously. We’re not just doing this for us. You all need a place to be yourself and we’re not gonna stop till we get it done. Love you all!
