Moon Rock Music is a local music school for rock band youth. It’s very cool, teaching kids (and anyone!) guitars and drums and things like how to be in a rock band. I met Bean, the owner when he started coming in the shop years ago and the pop punk music on the speakers got us chatting. His wife would come in and we became fast friends gabbing fashion + gardens. Their kids are so cool. Rock band kids. Moon Rock Music is a rad thing they do locally. Their youth bands,
ages ~6-16 will be playing out front of Spoke & Dagger Co. tomorrow 6-8pm. Fire Eyes, Band Name Here, Blue Lightning 🤘🏻 Come support these rock stars!

An intro to the rest of the crew I wanna hype..

Sal + I have gotten to know each other working together on creative + event things for Torsten’s record label Triple Hammer Records. You may also know T from behind the counter at S&D. He handles vinyl + cassettes + cds with gnarly passion for some incredible + underrated Buffalo bands. Sal does graphics both immediately and from a genuine creative place for a lot of whats happening at Triple Hammer. Bean and Tor happen to go way back too.

This Shop Rock flyer, band logos for Moon Rock, collab merch, and the flash Robin will be chain stitching - Sal designed. Sal’s band is GATTO BLACK definitely check them out. Mike, Torsten’s buddy, neighborhood friend, also in Gatto teaches Drums at Moon Rock Music for Bean. That’s how small Buffalo is.

My friend Robin Pin Prick Sewing Co., a motorcycle babe doing cool things, has popped up chain stitching at our events since back in the day. Bring your vintage or whatever’s and she’ll put some cool stitches on for you live time

Art activities brought to you by temporary tattoos + bringing back our motorcycle coloring pages. foxandcrow, a regular of S&D had me design a beehive for his honey spot which lead to giving us some hives for you to doodle on while we listen to tunes. NEW SUMMER MENU by yours truly too. maybe ❤️‍🔥

our team is made up of a bunch of human beings going full throttle with their hearts, creativity + life. They work very hard behind this coffee bar. I really appreciate them for showing up everyday and protecting what this is for all of us.

our customers coming thru are what make this whole thing a thing. It’s mostly why we show up with our best. They are incredible and loving and kinda batsh*t too. The ride or die type. You’re some of the most dynamic and interesting people we’ve ever met. We learn so much from you and it’s changed us in ways we appreciate and take with us. This feels like an appropriate time to take the opportunity to say so. To thank you all. You make it very easy to get through these work days. Thank you for witnessing us on the ride, for being a part of our daily routine, for keeping the shop going and for calling S&Dco your home one way or another.

This has been a pretty cool thing to do for the past decade.
10 years this year for the shop feels WILD to comprehend.

Now Hiring! Seeking a creative adventurer and do-er to join our really incredible small team in a motorcycle coffee shop on Hertel Ave in North Buffalo.

We are a retail goods store around for the past 10 years with a growing coffee shop that joined the crew 3 years back. We diy our own branded goods, shop interiors, graphics, menu, drinks + curate some cool vintage too. S&Dco. importantly hosts hangs and holds space for our community. We’re known for giving a damn about our house-made from scratch syrups, treats, merch, vibes + personalities.

We are hiring a BARISTA who will get a crash course in small business wearing a couple hats along side us in a role driven by your talent and our needs as a team.

MUST have barista experience. This fast-paced position fr requires a detail oriented creative with a good attitude + solid teamwork above all else. Having spent time working in a cafe is what we’re looking for with this one. Weekend availability required for this part time position.

MUST have a personally + the ability to listen, able to hustle, show up for your shift, give a damn, and have an open heart for our customers, team and community. Come willing to grow with us as we have a lot of dope things coming. Adopt into our strange work family as our newest team member.
