Don’t judge a pizza by its roundness!!!

This Sunday, worker-owner Joey is teaching the next generation of Extra’s Extras how to stretch, top, and launch a pie. Why are we telling you this? Because there will be a LOT of cheese pizzas, some with a bit of a unique shape.

Instead of throwing this pizza away, we’ll be selling them to you, for a $5 or $10 donation to Cooperation Buffalo! has been an invaluable partner to us since the inception of the business, and are a cornerstone to the co-op community in Buffalo.

The orders will go live on Sunday morning, and we are capping it at 2 pizzas per order so that everyone can get some🍕

hey folks: it's me, your very pregnant social media manager and founding worker-owner at extra extra, soon ho! I'm hopping on here to say hello and [temporarily] goodbye! I and my fellow worker-owners [also some of my most beloved friends] have been busy preparing for my maternity leave: which begins now🧚

••• incoming: maternity leave-related ramblings!! •••

when one welcomes a child, everyone talks about leaning on your village--for lots of great reasons! in finding my personal village, I discovered that a cooperative workplace has quietly yet loudly been a village like no other.

in our collective intent to build a workplace that embodies our core value of putting people first: I'm humbled and privileged to experience it so authentically during a vulnerable First in my career in hospitality.

I am endlessly grateful to my co-worker owners for the radical care they have shown me. I am also grateful to our eclectic + vibrant staff: a source of dependability, resilience, and joy!! And lastly, I am grateful for the big little community we've joined and nourished here in the West Side: your continued support makes it so that we can support each other!! It's a regenerative cycle we worked hard for, which has proven itself true in so many ways💗🧡

it's been the best honor and privilege of my life to grow my family from a foundation of radical workplace support and care--a privilege not often found in traditional model restaurants that I do not take for granted. I hope to repay it tenfold to my coworkers + community💛 See you all on the other side; I relinquish my grip on this grid🤝🦋
