Sadly, today’s the last day we’ll be open at 2028 Magnolia Avenue. We’ll be closing today at 3pm and won’t open again until we have landed in a new location.

We’re in the process of identifying a new location and definitely welcome suggestions if you know of a wonderful and affordable space in Buena Vista that may be available. 🙂

Thank you to everyone for your support over the last eight months. It means the world to us. We love you!

Come see us today and grab the best hot dog (and fries) around!

We wanted to remind everyone that we have enjoyed our first home on Magnolia Avenue. It has been a great place to learn and grow and serve delicious food to hundreds and hundreds of fantastic people!

However, it’s time for a change and Piggy’s will be moving to a new location in Buena Vista. We will serve customers from our current location (2028 Magnolia Avenue) through this Saturday, August 7th.

Today is National Work Like a Dog day…which we know we all look forward to each year…so celebrate how hard you work by eating a hot dog from Piggy’s.

They were voted best hot dog in Buena Vista, you know.

A delicious hot dog with mustard and relish…and definitely some air fried French fries. And, of course, a cold drink.

We’ve shared a lot about our food and events that were going on at Piggy’s, but we haven’t really talked about what makes Piggy’s really special: the people. And of all of our wonderful team, one person needs to be highlighted today: Ms. Barbara.

Barbara is amazing. She’s been with us since day 1 and makes you feel special and welcome. She remembers people’s names and the way they like their hot dog. She’s always coming up with ideas for how we can make Piggy’s even better.

Basically, Piggy’s wouldn’t be what it is today if it weren’t for Barbara.

Thank you Barbara for everything. We love you!!

p.s. she’s going to be upset that we posted this tribute to her. That’s another amazing thing about Barbara, she doesn’t want the spotlight. She won’t even let us take a good photo of her. :)

Tomorrow, from 11:30am to 1pm, we’ll be doing cartoons for the kids for the last time this summer (and for the last time in our current location).

Come on out with your kids or grandkids, grab them a Piglet (our kids meal) and some lunch for you, and enjoy some laughs! It’s always fun watching kids laugh.

See you tomorrow!

A little hot dog history lesson.

Historians believe the beginnings of the hot dog can be traced back to the time of the Roman emperor Nero. He had a cook, Gaius, that, as rumor has it, is responsible for creating the first hot dog.

Whether the hot dog has been around for 2000 years or not we may never know for sure. But what we do know for sure, is that the best darn hot dog in the Rockbridge area today is found at Piggy’s.

So come by today and let us prepare your hot dog just the way you like it.
