Hey friends. It’s Chef Margaret. Long time no post, right?!
Seeing precious LeeLee’s farewell post about closing Lyn’s last week reminded me that we never officially said “goodbye” to you all. I still get messages weekly asking if we will ever re-open or open in another location, so I figured it’s best to just answer all at once.
It is with heavy hearts that we had to close our doors for good. We closed up back in March when Covid struck, not knowing that we would never re-open again. We have all gone our separate ways and moved on to other careers and do not have plans to ever re-open or open in another location. And as I’m sure you have all noticed by this point, The Interior Marketplace as a whole has closed for good, as well. It is incredibly sad, but we had a fabulous decade of service and for that, we are tremendously thankful.
To our amazing, loyal customers: I cannot tell you how much your business and your support meant to us over the years. In a world where so many restaurants open up and fail, you all blew us away by coming again and again and again and keeping our seats filled and keeping our lights on and keeping our staff paid. I wish I could tag all of you, especially those of you who came to eat with us multiple times a week. But we saw you, and we will love you forever. You all know who you are!! We tried many things in the last 10 years... some were wildly successful, and some were huge busts. But you all never failed to come out and support us and bring your friends and try out whatever new idea we were cooking up. (Pun intended!) Huntsville/Hampton Cove: we love you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! We will miss you all terribly.
To my amazing staff through the years and all the friends who helped us and supported us: Ugh, I’m crying now. You all are my FAMILY. My “chickens”. The loves of my life. I wouldn’t trade all the laughs and tears and hugs and dances and kitchen concerts and late nights and early mornings and cuts and burns and bruises and all the crazy good times for anything in this world. To see so many of you still cooking what you learned from me makes my heart soar. To see you all flourishing in your careers and growing your families makes me happier and prouder than I ever thought possible. If you ever took a paycheck from MPC or CND, you are mine forever. So many of us were in each other’s weddings or will be in the future. So many of us still talk and hang out regularly. We are bonded for life. Thank you a million bajillion for standing beside me through it all.
Now for the fun part!! If you were a MPC patron, please share your favorite memories or favorite meals or show some love to your favorite team member!! This is just a small handful of the pictures from the last ten years. We had some of the very best times serving you. Thank you all for EVERYTHING.
