We love our friends at Quill’s End Farm. This is a lovely write up, and describes their beautiful farm perfectly.

This week's Friday Farm Highlight is Quill's End Farm!

Nestled along Route 15 just before Back Ridge Road in North Penobscot, Quills End Farm is a familiar sight to many traveling through the area. You may recognize their beautiful working horses and dairy cows grazing in the fields surrounding the farm—a reminder of the rich agricultural heritage that makes our community so special.

Quills End Farm offers a variety of locally produced goods, including fresh milk, yogurt, vegetables, beef, and more. Their farm store is open dawn to dusk, seven days a week, making it easy to stop by and support local agriculture.

We're proud to celebrate Quills End Farm as part of our Farmland Forever program and thank them for helping preserve the working lands that make the Blue Hill Peninsula such a special place.

To learn more about Farmland Forever, visit our website. And if you're traveling Route 15, be sure to stop by Quills End Farm or visit their page to support this wonderful local family farm!

***JULY FIELD DAY!***

Join us!
Saturday 7/25/2026
11:00 am

We will be diving into hives to:

> test mite levels
> verify colonies are queen right
> ensure resources are plentiful
> make decisions about feeding

Bring your PPE, your questions and your knowledge for a fun event!

Best part? You do not have to be a beekeeper to join us! Come and explore the inner workings of an active, busy, bee colony.

Where? 37 Bridge Rd, Brooksville Maine

Caught a swarm in our own yard 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why do these naughty girls swarm? It’s a natural method of reproduction. Rather than just making more individual bees, the colony splits in two to create a new colony. This usually happens in the spring or early summer when hives become overcrowded and food resources are plentiful.

After a long Winter and a busy Spring, we are happy to report that our first run of 2026 Honey is underway. It tastes absolutely amazing! The stand will be fully stocked this weekend! ❤️🐝

Update: It was just about 50 pounds after extracting and straining. The moisture content ended up at 16.5%. Perfect for bottling!

Today’s Field Day is cancelled due to the weather and its misbehavior. We are here though if you have anything you need! 💛🐝
