**To our loyal customers: After 50 years Golden Skillet Family Restaurant will close it’s doors. Throughout our time serving the Brookneal community and surrounding areas we have appreciated each and every one of you and your business, and consider you our family as well. We have also cherished the opportunity to employee many people over the years who have impacted us and this business tremendously and all of you will always hold a special place in our hearts. We can’t thank each of you enough for all of the memories you’ve given us and the love we have shared in both good times and hard times.

El Cazador Mexican Restaurant will be assuming ownership of the Golden Skillet property and after some renovations will be opening it’s doors to serve the community. They are excited to come to Brookneal and we look forward to welcoming them!

Again, thank you for allowing us to serve you! It’s been our life’s work and would not have been possible without all of you!

We were very saddened by the news this morning that our long time employee Grandpa passed away peacefully in his sleep this morning! Grandpa was a joy to know and work with. We would like to send our love and condolences to his family! Tell Grandma we said hello!

Ok everyone this weekend is Memorial Day weekend. We will be open regular hours Saturday and Sunday. We will be closed on Monday. WE WILL BE OPEN ON TUESDAY!
