First… I have to thank all the staff that helped out while The Wall That Heals was in town. I don’t want to know how this place would function without Melissa… She pulled major overtime and even wrangled her two amazing daughters to come to the rescue. Abby, Jordan, Doris, Gabby, Meredith and Kat were all tested and showed such amazing patience and focus. The gratitude I have for getting to work with these incredible ladies grew exponentially this last week. Linda was vigilant about keeping the dishes down and we even had a rescue dish team on Saturday (the busiest day) Richard & Jaden!!!! You both rocked and saved us all that night! Thank you.
Thank you all!!

That being said I’m lucky the team is coming back this week… it was almost a mutiny, but I assured the team, a week off is coming and it starts this Saturday 8/8. So we will have the following menu…

All week: Liver and Onions, grilled Salmon, Goulash, Tuna Salad

Soups: Chili, loaded potato

Two really great pieces of news to share… Thanks to all of you that voted for The Classic Deli, we were officially nominated and in the running for Best Tenderloin in Iowa! We’ve been nominated 4 years out of 7 except this time I was informed in person last night! Thats never happened.

The other great news is we were reached out to by PBS to be featured on their Iowa Road Trip segment.

So grateful for the crazy awesome humans that contribute and help make this place Wonderful! They care and it shows on many levels in many ways and cannot be replaced!

I forgot to put walleye on our menu this week. We have it today…😁 The Baby backs are going to fall off the bone right around 11:30!

I also made fresh peach, strawberry rhubarb, coconut, chocolate and sour cream raisin.

Prime rib at 4:30.
