A Po’Boy with a purpose 🧡 This Hunger Action Month, STRANGE DELIGHT is putting action on the menu. All September long, $5 from every Fried Green Tomato Po’Boy will be donated to Food Bank For NYC.

Because too many New Yorkers are still going without, and we need our whole city to show up. ➡️ So come hungry, bring a friend, and help make a difference one Po’Boy at a time.

Some sad news: after tomorrow, we’re pausing cafe service for the foreseeable future as we gear up for some new things (wink, wink .nyc nudge nudge).

Tomorrow will be the last day of 8 am service and the last day to get a morning bun (for now). Starting next weekend, we’ll open for brunch/lunch starting at 10:30 am Sat and Sun, and we’ll continue to be open for dinner 7 nights a week.

Come by for one last good mornin’ bun tomorrow, and thanks to everyone who supported our lil cafe run. We had a blast.

Join us for a special collaboration lunch with our friends from James Beard-nominated Sedalia’s on Friday August 14th.

Hisham “Ham” El-Waylly and the Sedalia’s team will be cooking up a collaborative menu of Bolivian specialities. A sneak peak of what’s on offer:

Sandwich de Chola (Roast Pork Sandwich)
Sopa de Mani (Peanut Soup)
Silpancho (Beef Milanese Plate)
Saltenas

We put together a blend of old and new for our inaugural NYC Tourism NYC Restaurant Week menu (swipe through for the full reveal): from our classic charbroiled oysters to our newer Steen’s®️Syrup-glazed Heritage Foods pork ribs, this menu has a lil bit of everything.

Some sad news:

We are suspending weekday cafe service for the time being as we think through our future with daytime programming. The realities of sustaining a second, materially different business out of Strange Delight were more difficult than we hoped, especially given a dip in traffic in an already very competitive environment.

The good news is we will still have a pastry program with all the cafe classics plus some new creations on the weekends, and we’re going to double down on our sweet program for brunch and dinner service. Plus, y’all know we love a daytime cafe pop-up every now and then so we’ll find some special ways to show up for you.

And last but not least, we’ll still be sending a selection of Amanda Perdomo items over to our friends Canyon Coffee on a recurring basis!

Thanks to everyone who showed up and supported over the last 9 months. The cafe may be gone on the weekdays for now, but we’ll never stop wishing you a good mornin’.
