Spanish Doré (white wine) by Ruben Diaz in the Sierra de Gredos Mountains!

Seared bibimbap rice and creamy briney ocean spray. Oyster shells and fresh leeks. This is truly a "wild card." A white wine with almost no fruit - all minerals and savory beige flavors. An exercise in savory aromatic beauty. From the alpine mountains west of Spain, Doré pairs with crisp mountain air and butterflies landing on your shoulder. Intoxicatingly different, you'll be sucked into the glass wondering where she's been all your life. 🌪️🌀

Garnacha from the Sierra Gredos in Spain by Las Pedreras

Smokey mountain alpine Garnacha has a special place in my heart. Think : smeared raspberries and blackberries, a strong whiff of wet earth with spicy, ruddy, mystical aromas. Lithe and light on its feet. A twirling whirling dervish of a wine. Serious with a raised eyebrow. Lovely and sexy. We love the Sierra Gredos at Judy's! 🕺

Blaufränkisch from Rosi Schuster in Austria

Pure savory black fruit pops through and smacks you in the face like a wave crashing on a beach. Fresh and vibrant with a crack of pepper and a whiff of earth. Dense and layered, a thinker and a drinker. From The Burgenland ©️, a Judy's favorite wine region on the border of Hungary where wineries flank all sides of an enormous lake (The Neusiedl!) A true lip smacker! 🚣🫨

Say hiiiii 👋👋 to Judy's new Winter Roaster : from Portland, ME.

I came across Tandem at a small restaurant in the Catskills over the Fall and I was absolutely floored. Here in my cup was something decidedly "old-school" in taste profile (dark toasty chocolatey and dare I say "diner-y"), but with the elegance, length and balance of a more new school micro-roaster. I fell in love and am so happy to be able to brew them at Judy's for the next 3 - 4 months.

☕ On drip : Stoker, 100% Colombian "dark-ish" with that old-school meets new-wave feel.

☕ On espresso : Time & Temperature, 50/50 Columbian + Ethiopian. More of a modern roast with a beautiful citrus kiss and a sweet soft finish.

Of course, retail beans will be available during the residency alongside other cool roasters including our Fall resident .coffee who we will dearly miss!

This also marks one year of us rotating our house roasts for espresso and drip and I want to thank the beautiful people of Sunset Park for going along on the journey with us! It's been a very delightful ride!

German Riesling from Peter Lauer in the Saar : "No. 1"

A staff favorite! Like a green apple sour candy warhead this Riesling rips harder than a neon lime light saber in the hands of a Jedi Warrior. Outrageous zip, exploding with fresh basil and wild ginger ripped from the woods. Neither bone dry or noticeably sweet. It lives in the "in-between" 🤔 Lauer is my favorite Riesling producer... Give into the dark side and let the riesling cut through the January blues. 👽⚡🍃

California Zinfandel by Lava Cap in El Dorado

From the high alpine Sierra Foothills east of Sacramento comes this rippin' Zin(fadel)! With sticky drippy blackberries (seeds and all), smokey and spicy bay leafs and thyme crushed in a mocajete. A light kiss of oak in a deep dense velvety bodied package. This is a depth of winter Red to brood on, to seduce with, to stare into the void. Cali Zin has a bit of a bad rep, but let this volcanic soiled, high elevation bottle change your mind on it. Lovely stuff. 🌌🌃☄️

Sicilian Red Blend from Tenuta Di Castellaro

This blend of Corinto & Nero d'Avola is pure magic. Smashed crans and ashy smokey earth. Fresh, lively, seductive and silky. Full bodied and punchy as hell. From the tiny volcanic Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily (An island off an island!) this bottle is attentive and ready to carry you into the sea. An intoxicating whiff of Framboise and a grind of spice in the Molcajete. 🌄
