Proof of concept👩🏻‍🍳
Slinging vegan mac and cheese has been real, but I’m more than that - as a chef and as a person. The heart wants what it wants.❤️And I crave the food of my beloved Brooklyn. Which is the food of the world. The food that’s spoken to me, influenced me and, well, literally FED me.

So I introduce… Eesie. My nickname. My world. A reflection of the people and places that have shaped how I cook, think, and live. I don’t have a new space yet, but I hope I will soon🙏🏼

Goodbye Modern Love, Hello Future!

As most of your have probably heard, Modern Love closed this past week. We are having one last hurrah to fund what comes next.

Join us this weekend for BOARDWALK BABY PRIX FIXE. A 7-course peak season feast inspired by Coney Island summers, childhood cravings, and the joy of stuffing your face while your shoulders burn. It’s about honoring where we come from and feeding where we’re going.

Proceeds from this dinner will help build our next space...a new chapter rooted in Brooklyn, community, and delicious, vegan everything.

Broccoli Cheddar Knish
Potato and broccoli knish, cheddar cauliflower, caramelized onion, toasted kasha, honee mustard

Sausage and Peppers
Grilled 'sausage' fancy mushrooms, seared red peppers and onion, housemade sundried tomatoes, cashew mozzarella, fennel flower & pollen

Cucumber Shooter Intermezzo
Creamy cucumber gazpacho, mint, lime

Watermelon Salad
Watermelon, pickled watermelon rind, almond feta, Thai basil, sherry vinegar, Aleppo pepper

Tamale
Masa with black beans and grilled corn, green garlic mojo, black plum pico de gallo, pickled red onion

Cheese Fries
Crinkle-cut potatoes, housemade cashew cheese sauce, black pepper panko crumble, ketchup gastrique

Fresh Corn Ice Cream with Rhubarb
Served with warm polenta cake

Boardwalk Baby Prix Fixe Tasting is HERE✨
Three seatings only: Friday night and two on Saturday! Our last event in the restaurant and it’s a really special one.

This is a sliding scale fundraiser to help build my next space, so come hungry, come curious, and know your ticket is feeding the future (literally).

This summer menu is a love letter to Coney Island and the Brooklyn summers that raised me…knishes, sausage & peppers, watermelon, cheese fries (of course), and rhubarb (even though I didn’t discover rhubarb till I was well past 30).

Nachos and a Passion Fruit Spritz! We are fully booked for the most part. UberEats is on intermittently. And we might have counter seating or outdoor seating if you are in the neighborhood and want to see. Most reservations left are after 9pm🌸 Our last day of service is Sunday - it’s the final countdown!

For people who kept reading….there is a good chance we will do a few fundraising pop ups over the next two weeks so watch this space! They will be ticketed and fancy so we can try to raise money for the next spot👀

Ok it’s time💔 We have our closing date. It will be Sunday June 15th. A little earlier than planned but that’s life. And we will go out strong! PLEASE make reservations on OpenTable, we are no longer on Resy. And we will be closed Monday and Tuesday June 9th and 10th. There’s also a good chance that delivery will be off so come by!

Get your last Nacho, your last Chickpea Parm, your last Brownie a la Mode and all the good vibes we can muster. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. And also thank you. It has been a true honor and gift💕
