Last night King Mohammed Vl pronounced the end of the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting. The locals immediately started the celebration of Eid-Al-Fitr (celebration of the fast ending) and today, after yesterday's traditional preparation of lavish meals, people stay mostly home, all stores are closed, and the people who do go out wear their finest djellaba or women's outfits. It's a time of charity, goodwill, and feasting that can take 3 days or longer. It's very quiet in Tangier. Alcohol is of course not part of this for most believers.

Monday morning in Tangier. Wishing you all a lovely week, may something delightful happen to you! ❤️

Leaving Budapest and driving to its sister city, my birth place Vienna, I made a short stop at lake Neusiedlersee and watched people ice skating on it. My wonderful niece Fionna and her Hungarian wife Anita welcomed me with amazing home cooked meals and lovely conversation. We hadn't seen each other much during my 43 years in the U.S. and there is so much to catch up with. I am exploring the city and discovered a "window café", with a fun Venezuelan woman in charge. This is a perfect visit, despite the very cold windy weather, and I am thrilled to have enough time to meet old friends again and to reconnect with family that has been adding 2 new generations that I am now meeting for the first time.

I have been welcomed back in Tangier with the traditional, almost never failing Moroccan hospitality and kindness. The days are sunny and still at around 17 - 20*C, chilly at night. I am taking pictures of street scenes, and in regular neighborhoods, less of the Medina and Kasbah and other typical targets for visitors. Sending everybody much love from here, enjoy the fall season and the upcoming holiday. May you all be blessed with health and good energy.

Dear New York friends,
Greetings from my Portugal and Morocco travels, now after my Brooklyn working life has been over for a while. I am not sure when (and if) I might be in NY next.
I am writing this in an attempt to help one of my all-time best friends. Her name is Julie Wolf, she is a pre-k teacher and a little over 60 years old, a kind and honest woman. She has gone through 3 knee surgeries and one back (spine) surgery not long ago and due to changes in her sublet situation is urgently needing a small apartment, or a room even with roommates in the same household, starting towards the end of August. She doesn’t smoke, rarely drinks, is very creative, and single. Of course, her budget is a bit limited, and that’s part of the difficulties she is dealing with.
If any of you have space, or know someone (who knows someone that knows someone..) who does, please let me know and I will put her in touch with you.
Much love, stay cool, and healthy, everybody, Paul

arrived in Sevilla late at night, just as the city started winding down. Luckily, despite negative forecasts, the weather today turned out fabulous, sunny throughout. Perfect to crisscross the old part on foot and stop for lots of cafes con leche 🥰 ̃a
