Sometimes for a long time after taking care of people for a long time you have to tell yourself that you are enough to be like; "What about me??"

Made some Chicken Adobo for the homies to handout on my way home in the city and I have to say it might be my best batch yet. I braised it in the oven with ginger... fresh bay leaves and whole garlic cloves that made more of a confit when it was done. I also wanted a little toast and texture to it. Added rice vinegar for sweetness.

This weekend was a doozy. Between cooking and birthdays and being present with my bum leg... wow.
Had a good relaxing day only to be surprised by with an authentic Philly cheesesteak from his favorite spot in his hometown. He also went heavy on being a cheesesteak fairy and made sure the homies were good. Mine was accompanied by butterscotch TastyCakes. I am so grateful for mini but HUGE gestures like this. What an amazing end and beginning to the week.
Also get into Euphoria so I don't have to catch you up. The season opener was a good one.
