🍻 WHAT AN AFTERNOON! THANK YOU! 🍻

Yesterday’s Brooklyn Park Rotary Oktoberfest fundraiser was a wonderful success! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the afternoon possible — our sponsors, breweries and beverage partners, prize donors, volunteers, community partners, fellow Rotarians, and everyone who came out to join us. We were also so pleased to welcome District Governor Leif Hagen, Rotary District 5950, MN, along with fellow Rotarians from area Rotary clubs.

A special thank you to Edinburgh USA Golf Course for hosting us, the wonderful chefs and team at Tavern at Edinburgh for the delicious food, and Jake Stow for the great music! And a BIG thank you to our Brooklyn Park Rotary Oktoberfest Planning Committee and Rotary members who put so much time and effort into making the day come together. Most importantly, your support helps Brooklyn Park Rotary continue giving back to our community, BrookLynk and Park Rec on the Go.

🌳 Let’s Talk Buckthorn!

At our Brooklyn Park Rotary breakfast meeting last Wednesday at Lynde's Restaurant & Catering Osseo, MN, we welcomed Tom Anderson from the Rotary Club of Maple Grove for a very informative presentation on invasive buckthorn.

Tom shared how quickly buckthorn can take over wooded areas, crowding out native plants and impacting forests, wetlands and wildlife. We also learned some practical ways to identify, remove and help prevent it from coming back.

Tom also touched on the importance of tree planting and restoring areas with native plants to help protect our local environment. 🌱

And we loved his “EcoMan – Protecting Mother Earth” shirt! 🌎

Thank you, Tom, for joining us and sharing your knowledge! Rotary District 5950, MN Brooklyn Park Recreation and Parks
