The Wooden Legs Brewing Company name is tongue in cheek homage to Judge Wilmot Wood Brookings. Judge Brookings is a significant figure in history of South Dakota. The county and city were named after him although he only visited the city twice. In February 1858, Brookings rode a horse from Sioux Falls to the Yankton area during a blizzard. His horse slipped and fell into Split Rock Creek in the fr

eezing weather. Brookings made it safely to Yankton, but his wet legs had suffered such severe frostbite they both needed to be amputated. He spent the rest of his life using a pair of squeaky, wooden legs.

It's Friday, the sun is shining, and we have two recent tappings for you to enjoy!

First, Deadwood Gold Amber Ale is back on tap! It's as delicious as you remember, this batch came in at 5.2% ABV and is ready to enhance your weekend. Joining Deadwood on the lineup is newbie Absolute Bastard, a crisp, bitey IPA brewed with Rye and Crystal Rye malts, and generously hopped with Cascade and Citra hops.
Derek named this beer after one of his most challenging brew days in nearly a decade, it was an absolute bastard to brew, so enjoy it!

After another neck-and-neck month, Rachel managed to pull out ahead of Derek's Lem 'n Pep Pizza! This month, her Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza will be facing off against Dylan's Nashville Hot Pizza for what we anticipate to be another tight race. Dylan's pie starts off with a Nashville hot Sauce version of our white sauce, followed up with mozzarella, chicken, and pickles before being dusted with black pepper and finished with a Nashville hot sauce. This brute is served with a side of coleslaw, and definitely worth giving a shot.

You've got until the end of the month to secure these two specials, because only one will live on to compete in July!

But he wanted us to take this opportunity to remind you the WLBC patio is OPEN! This little outdoor piece of heaven opens with the taproom every day and is open until 10PM (weather permitting). Come enjoy it with us while we have it, this beauty is getting packed up mid October.
