❤️It’s been a wee bit since I’ve introduced myself. I’m Ollie 😍
We have people asking all the time where that name came from. When I was a really little girl, my grandpa nicknamed me Olive Oyl from the cartoon Popeye. He thought I looked like her, all gangly and awkward I guess😆😂. Grampy I were best friends. We took daily trips to the local gas station for a candy bar for me, and a cup of senior coffee for him. We would sit and talk about life, mostly he just listened to me ramble on about my shenanigans. After I finished college, Grampy developed dementia. He progressed and eventually wasn’t sure who even the most close people to him were. When I would get to come back and visit, it always filled my heart when he called me “Ollie”. I knew that he remembered who I was. ❤️🙏🏻
One of the very last conversations I had with him was when I talked to him about starting a coffee shop in his honor and calling it “Ollies”. He looked at me square in the eyes and said “Ollie, you better do that!” We’ve had trials, some of you are aware of my struggle and journey in recovery. I know you have struggles, too, (we all do, right?) Ollies has been my favorite investment (besides myself and my family) & greatest form of therapy❤️
🤩🤩You better believe it is not over, we are so excited to be continuing into another chapter of our shop. I am fully relying on God and his prompting on what is next. I wanted to write and assure you that my dream of honoring my Grampy is not over. I know Gramps continues to cheer us on, with great pride ❤️ I want to continue investing in people, loving them exactly where they are. Coming alongside those who are struggling (everyone), with a smile and genuine empathy. Stay tuned for some fun news coming soon! We love each and every one of you and can never express the depth of gratitude we have for your continued support of Ollie’s Coffee and Boutique😍
