We will be open one more week before we turn it over to new owners. Our family thanks you for the last two years of support.

In 2019 I saw the late “Tex” Slyman in town and heard he and Attorney Keith Ham had bought the old Anchor. I asked Tex what they were going to do with it and he said he had bought it for nostalgia reasons. I asked him if he would sell it to me and my wife. He asked what we would want it for. I explained the memories I had with my parents eating burgers there when I was 12 years old, and how I would love to bring it back for future generations.

Tex took us there to look it over, when he opened the door I realized it would take a miracle to bring it back. The ceiling had fallen in and the entire place would need to be gutted. Tex told us we should just bull doze it down and rebuild. With my love of history and the past, I couldn’t do it. I spoke with my brother and asked if he thought we could bring it back. He said it would take a ton of work but it was possible. We purchased the property Dec 2019 and started remodeling late February 2020. For the next 8 months we worked tirelessly on the remodel and in October 22, 2020 we reopened the doors to the Anchor.

We would love for you to look through these pics and see where it came from to where it is today. There’s way too many people to thank and you all know who you are, we couldn’t have done it without you. Special thanks to my brother Johnathan for heading up the remodel.
